Haddin to make comeback

NSW wicketkeeper Brad Haddin will make his first appearance since suffering a tendon injury in his elbow in a 2nd XI fixture against Victoria next week.

The gloveman injured himself in the final of the Twenty20 World Cup against England in May and has since had to watch as Tasmanian Tim Paine claimed his Test and limited-overs spot for Australia.

Haddin was originally selected for Australia's tour of England, before pulling out due to the elbow problem. He had been hopeful of being fit for the series against India but is now expected to make his Test comeback for the first Ashes Test at the Gabba in late November.

His immediate return will come in four-day match against the Victorian Second XI at Sydney's Blacktown Olympic Park starting on Monday.

Haddin will captain the Blues for the 2nd XI match.
