Late show opens chance of Aussie win

Mitchell Johnson stars in five-wicket haul in first Test against India

Mitchell Johnson's 5 for 64 is his sixth five-for in 37 Tests, but his first in nine matches against India. His previous best against them had been 4 for 70 in Bangalore in 2008

A late show with the ball in Mohali has given Australia the chance to press for victory over India on the final two days of the first Test.

India 405 (Tendulkar 98, Raina 86, Dravid 77, Sehwag 59, Johnson 5-64) trail Australia 428 by 23 runs

Mitchell Johnson picked up a five-wicket haul as Australia ripped through India's lower order to take a 23-run lead into day four of the first Test in Mohali.

"Dougy (Bollinger) bowled pretty well. (Nathan) Hauritz was out of luck. Else, he would have got a few more wickets.

Johnson was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 5-64, while Hauritz (2-116), Doug Bollinger (2-49) and North (1-39) all contributed.

"You've also got to give credit to the bowlers - Johnson bowled really well towards the end."
