BEN HILFENHAUS may have scored more runs than Michael Clarke in the two-Test series against India but Australia aren't reconsidering the vice-captain's move up the batting order.
Clarke scored 35 runs at the alarming average of 8.75 in the series, and thus his average since being promoted ahead of Michael Hussey is 17.4 from four Tests. Clarke's form typifies the problems with the middle order.
You don't have to worry about Michael Clarke. He knows his own game very well.
Meanwhile, opener Shane Watson said the team would have no excuses during the Ashes.
''Every Test we play, everyone is improving. I know that every time I go out to play I am learning different things and different lessons, we are trying not to make the same mistakes over again and a year down the track we've got a bit more experience and unfortunately learnt from our mistakes, hopefully we can bring it all together in the Ashes,'' Watson said.
