Australia's Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger have made the extended short-list for all three of the International Cricket Council's annual awards - Test, one-day and overall player of the year.
Shane Watson and Doug Bollinger headline a strong contingent of Australians that have been nominated for LG ICC Awards.A host of players have been nominated on the initial list for the awards as part of the ICC's annual ceremony, with six Australians and no England players up for the top prize of cricketer of the year.
Joining the star Aussies in the nominations for the cricketer of the year are captain Ricky Ponting, vice-captain Michael Clarke, fast bowlers Ryan Harris and Mitchell Johnson, who won the award last year.
Simon Katich is the only other Australian up for Test player of the year, while Harris, Ponting, Michael Hussey and Cameron White are all up for the ODI award.
Exciting trio David Warner, Steven Smith and Tim Paine are all in line for the emerging player of the year, which fast bowler Peter Siddle won last year.
The lists of nominations were made by a five-man ICC selection panel chaired by former West Indies captain and current chairman of the ICC cricket committee Clive Lloyd.
The panel included former international players Angus Fraser of England, Matthew Hayden of Australia, Ravi Shastri of India and Zimbabwe's Duncan Fletcher, also the former England coach.
Short-lists for each award will be produced before the ceremony in Bengaluru, India on October 6.
