AUSTRALIA'S cricketers will be allowed to have WAGs on tour more often than ever this summer in a move which could make or break their Ashes campaign.
Australia's players can have their families stay with them whenever they want.
"It was apparent, when the guys returned to the hotel from Lord's, that some personality clashes had disrupted relations between wives and players," Gilchrist writes in his book, True Colours.
However, CA is convinced the benefits outweigh the negatives, so high-profile WAGs such as Jessica Bratich (Mitchell Johnson's fiancee), Lee Furlong (Shane Watson's wife) and Rianna Ponting (Ricky Ponting's wife) will be regular fixtures.
CA will not only continue its policy of paying for WAGs to stay during the festive period of the Melbourne and Sydney Tests but will also allow them to stay during all other Tests this summer.
"They have to have some semblance of a normal family life and CA is very supportive of the work-life balance. The players will be staying in apartment-style accommodation all around Australia and their wives and partners are welcome whenever they want to come."
