Bolly eyes quick return

Doug Bollinger says the juicy WACA wicket in New South Wales' Sheffield Shield clash against Western Australia could help him get back into the Test team.

The left-arm quick was left out of the team for the first Ashes Test, with Peter Siddle named instead, and the Victorian's six-wicket haul in the first innings of the match dented Bollinger's chances of a recall.

But Mitchell Johnson, who has 0-131 over the two innings in the Test in Brisbane, is under pressure to keep his spot, which could open the door for Bollinger to return to the Australian side.

He said he was optimistic he could bowl well on the green-top and work his way back into Ashes calculations.
"I'm here to take wickets and do well for NSW. I'd love to be a part of the Aussie set up but I'm here to play cricket and hopefully push for my selection there," Bollinger said.

"At the start of the day, we thought 300-plus was the par-score here, so it was a good result to keep them under 300," he said.

"I was pretty happy with the rhythm I had and the way I got through my action. There were plenty of positives to take out of today."

"I had a month where I felt like I wasn't bowling great, but it feels like it's starting to click again."
