Victoria run machine Brad Hodge is still holding out hope his international career isn't over after blasting his third century of the domestic one-day season to deliver the Bushrangers a narrow victory over Queensland.
Victoria 6 for 297 (Hodge 108, Finch 84, Harris 4-64) beat Queensland 2 for 140 (Dunk 60) by 4 runs (D/L method)
Victoria ended up winning Wednesday night's MCG Ryobi One-Day Cup match by four runs under the Duckworth-Lewis system.
The Bulls were 2-140 from 25 overs when the last of three rain interruptions ended the match, in reply to the Bushrangers' 6-297 from 45 overs.
The visitors, who resumed after their first 20-over stage on 1-103, would have won had the game ended after 21 or 22 overs, reaching 1-120 at the 22-over mark.
Earlier, Hodge belted 108 from 98 balls and shared a 170-run second-wicket stand with opener Aaron Finch (84 off 93 balls).
Hodge now has 414 runs from Victoria's first five one-day matches of the season at an average of 138 and strike rate of 102.98.
Queensland paceman Ryan Harris, on the comeback trail from a knee injury, picked up 4-64 from 11 overs.
"It's not great, but in the end we probably didn't field well enough, they probably shouldn't have made 297, dropping Hodge on 20 and 80 or whatever it was was not ideal," he said.
"The good thing is we batted well, we were chasing reasonably well, it would have been good if the rain hadn't come."
