The 18-year-old forced his way into calculations after making an unbeaten 192 in this week's Future's League match for Victoria in Perth after an unbeaten century last week for his club Melbourne.
Keath, who was offered a chance to become an inaugural player for new AFL franchise Gold Coast Suns, signed a multi-year deal with the Bushrangers earlier this year and is regarded as one of the best young cricketing talents in the country having played for Australia in the ICC Under 19 World Cup earlier this year.
"He a skilful athlete with lots to work with and probably a kid that's going to develop really quickly," White said. "I'm sure he's in good form and he's going to be a good player and 190 is a good effort in any form of the game."
"Cricket is a game which takes long time to be good at, especially as a batsman. I can only speak from my point of view, I'm 27 and I only worked out how to bat two years ago. It takes a long time to be a good batter, especially at first class level in Australia," he said.
