Doherty has been retained for this Friday's second Test in Adelaide but Hauritz has improved his chances of a recall at some point during the series, with excellent final-day work that earned him the Man of the Match prize. Western Australia were chasing 365 but hit trouble when Hauritz ran through the specialist batsmen, removing four of the top five.
Axed Test spinner Nathan Hauritz has bowled New South Wales to a 199-run outright victory at the WACA Ground after Western Australia crumbled to be all out for 165 on the final day of their Sheffield Shield clash.
Hauritz claimed 5-39 from 27 overs to be named man-of-the-match for the Blues to make sure the national selectors don't forget about him.
Doug Bollinger, who left the game after the second day to join the Australian Test team, claimed 3-32 to help bowl WA out for 205 before the Blues made 278 in their second innings with Steven Smith making 70 and Usman Khawaja 55.
