The Big Bash tournament is headlined by international players such as Chris Gayle, but the competition is also famous for showcasing Australia’s brightest young talent.
Nic Maddinson (8.0) - New South Wales Blues
The 18-year-old came into New South Wales' squad for the first time this year on a rookie contract, but was quickly upgraded to the senior list after a blistering start to his first-class career, which included a century on debut.
James Faulkner (8.0) - Tasmania Tigers
While known more for his left-arm seamers, Faulkner has also been climbing the batting order in first-class cricket this season. He bowls with good accuracy, proven by his economy rate of 7.18 last season, which is impressive for a rookie in Twenty20 cricket. Overall a reliable player that is cheaper than most other all-rounders.
Aiden Blizzard (8.0) - South Australia Redbacks
Although Blizzard now has a few years experience on the domestic scene, his move from Victoria to South Australia will see him get more opportunities at the top of the order. Blizzard has a career Twenty20 strike rate of 157.56, which shows he can score some serious bonus Fantasy points if he gets going.
Tom Beaton (5.0) - Western Australia Warriors
This little-known batsmen from Western Australia was part of Australia’s winning ICC under-19 World Cup team in January this year. He is known for his hard-hitting approach and showed in his Ryobi One-Day Cup debut this season that he can mix at domestic level, scoring a brisk 71.
hris Lynn (8.5) – Queensland Bulls
Only Andrew Symonds, Jimmy Maher and Martin Love scored centuries at a younger age in the first-class career for the Bulls, which gives you some idea of the potential this 20-year-old batsman has shown.
