Tasmania have jumped to the top of the Ryobi One-Day Cup table after a four-wicket win over Western Australia at Bellerive Oval on Wednesday night.

Captain George Bailey finished 79 not out as the Tigers achieved their target of 246 with four balls to spare.

The result means the fourth-placed Warriors are now out of contention for the final.

The Tigers set the win up early when they built a 13-run first-innings lead by posting 2-96 in reply to WA's 1-83.

The visitors then hit back through middle order batsmen Tom Beaton (47 from 41 balls) and Luke Ronchi (32 from 25) as they reached to 6-245 after 45 overs.

WA captain Marcus North said the success-starved Warriors would refresh over the Christmas break before launching an assault on the KFC Big Bash.

"I think Christmas has come at a good time for us to be honest. It's been a week to forget and we haven't been playing our best cricket," North said.
