David Warner looking forward to KFC Twenty20 showdown with Shaun Tait at Adelaide Oval

David Warner's memo to Shaun Tait is that he'll be waiting for him in the middle of Adelaide Oval on Tuesday night.

Warner has declared he loves nothing more than facing the fastest men in the world, including Tait.

One of the greatest rivalries in Twenty20 Big Bash history will be reignited when the pair square off in SA's season-opening clash with NSW.

It's almost 12 months since Warner smacked Tait for four sixes off one over in Sydney -- and now he aims to do it again.

"You're out there on each other's turf," Warner said.

"It's like a bull running at you, you've got to try to dodge it somehow. As I keep saying, I love facing fast bowlers because the faster it comes at you the further it goes.

"I love facing him (Tait). It's one of the things you have to have as a player when you come up against people who bowl that fast - you've got to have no fear.

"He's a good mate, we have banter on the field and a laugh off the field."

Tait hasn't played since South Australia's Champions League tournament in South Africa in September as he recovers from elbow surgery.

The speedster is believed to be desperate to get out on the pitch, and Warner will be waiting for him.

"He looks very fit," Warner said.

The fringe Australia batsman trained with the Redbacks on Monday, but was deemed unfit to play against the Blues.

While captain Michael Klinger said unpredictability will underpin the Redbacks' T20 campaign, he wouldn't have expected to lose a linchpin like Ferguson in such circumstances.
