England may have secured Ashes sweeps in bygone days, but they were achieved only in series of up to three Tests - and more than 120 years ago.
The Poms were certainly the dominant force in those early days of Test cricket, and the series of 1886 and 1886-1887 highlighted that fact.
But five-game sweeps are exclusively the domain of Australia.
When Ricky Ponting and his revenge-hungry side swept the 2006-2007 series, they became the second Australia side to complete a whitewash.
The first was delivered 86 years earlier, in the 1920-1921 series - the first after the outbreak of World War I - under the guidance of 41-year-old Warwick Armstrong.
