Australia all-rounder and reigning Allan Border medallist Shane Watson has joined the Fox Sports cricket family.

Watson announced his decision on Inside Cricket on Monday night, just a month out from this summer's Ashes series.

The 29-year-old will be a regular on Fox Sports this summer, offering a unique insight into some of cricket's biggest issues.

As one of the few players who represent Australia in all three forms of the game, Watson will provide an insider's view of what's happening in the Australian camp this season.

Watson said he was excited about joining Fox Sports' repected cricket team comprising Allan Border, Mark Waugh, Greg Blewett, Damien Fleming and Brendon Julian.

"There’s no doubt Fox Sports is dedicated to cricket, offering fans coverage of all of Australia’s overseas tours as well as the Ryobi One Day Cup and KFC Twenty20 Big Bash, and I feel privileged to be joining the team – especially ahead of the Ashes and next year’s World Cup."
