Australia's missing XI

Chris Rogers: Scored 1202 runs at 70 to win the 2006-07 state player of the year and WA Warriors player of the year. Earned a CA contract for 2007-08 and played one Test, against India at the WACA, before losing his contract. Moved from the WACA to Victoria in 2008-09.

Phillip Hughes: An exciting and unconventional left-handed opener who has played seven Tests, scored 615 runs, has a top score of 160 and an average of 51 - but is now on the sidelines.

Brad Hodge: A world-class batsman who in his six Tests scored 503 runs at an average of 56.
smashing two centuries in his first two one-day matches for Victoria this season. Scored over 17,000 runs at almost 50 in 223 first-class matches.

David Hussey: Has scored 11,465 first-class runs at 55, including 39 centuries, and still can't get a Test call - up. Last season he hit 970 runs at 57, including 168 in the shield final. One month later Hussey lost his CA contract. Much more highly valued in the IPL, where he received a contract worth over $600,000.

Callum Ferguson: Another who has had problems with injury, but has held a CA contract and played 25 ODIs

Cameron White: Talked about as an alternative future Test captain to Michael Clarke, White is a useful wrist-spin bowler, brutal batsman, brilliant fieldsman and bright tactician.

Graham Manou: Regarded by many as Australia's best wicketkeeper, Manou played one Test when, as backup to Brad Haddin in England,

Andrew McDonald: The Victoria all-rounder played four Test against South Africa and was picked in the Ashes squad and, despite still holding a national contract

Jason Krejza: The right-arm spinner was picked for the India tour in 2008 and took a record 8-215 on debut and finished with 12 wickets in the match.

Ryan Harris: Played two Tests against New Zealand and took nine wickets at 23. Also a handy lower-order batsman, Harris has had problems with his knee

Stuart Clark: A tall and accurate quick who hits the seam, gets bounce and is a genuine wicket-taker. Once regarded as the ideal replacement for Glenn McGrath, Clark played 24 Tests, yielding a fine 94 wickets at 24.

SPARES: Phil Jaques (opening batsman), Bryce McGain (leg-spinner), Beau Casson (leg-spinner), Adam Voges (middle-order batsman), Clint Mckay (medium pacer and handy batsman), Nathan Bracken (left-arm seamer).
