The trio will come together for an evening of banter raising money for the Ponting Foundation's Hitting Childhood Cancer for Six program, which was launched eight months ago.

The Sydney-based cricket captain and his wife have been back in Tassie briefly over the past few days, in part to announce the fundraiser, saying it would be "a huge event for the state".

"The fact that we can get Parkinson and Warne in Hobart at the same time as the Australian cricket team is remarkable," Ponting said. "I'm sure we won't have trouble getting a great attendance on the night."

Ponting said they were all looking forward to this "world first" event.

"And there will be a lot of hype around cricket at that time with the Ashes completed and it will be the night before the one-day international in Hobart," he said.

The program aims to raise $500,000 over three years and Ponting said it had already raised $250,000 for services to assist families going through the battle of childhood cancer.

"We will keep doing everything we can to raise money," Ponting said.

Presented by Pure Tasmania, tickets for Parkinson, Ponting and Warne Live in Hobart will go on sale on October 18. The event will be held at Wrest Point on January 20, 2011.
