Michael Clarke to play every Test, ODI and Twenty20 match on Australia's agenda for next five months.
Ricky Ponting, Mitchell Johnson and Shane Watson are being nursed through the early stages of a gruelling summer, but Clarke is yet to receive any instructions from Cricket Australia about having a break.
There was a time when Michael Clarke juggled a lot with his day job: sponsors and media commitments as well as playing cricket for Australia.
But now, ahead of a marathon summer when he's set to play every match through to the World Cup in April, Clarke has cleared the decks.
On the agenda are two one-day internationals in India this week: a Twenty20 against Sri Lanka in Perth on October 31, three ODIs against Sri Lanka, five Ashes Tests and seven ODI's against England.
"I don't let anything get in the way of my cricket these days," Clarke said.
"Media commitments, sponsorship commitments, , my personal life,my family
my friends, that all has to wait. If I've got training at a certain time, I've got training."
"But preparing for our next match, every day, is what comes first. Its my number priority. I think to have success in this game, because it is such a bloody hard game, you really do have to prepare right and that's what I will continue to do."
"I'm lucky that I've got so much support from family, friends, sponsors, everyone," he said.
"It's like doing an interview. I'm happy to talk but it's last on the list. Once training is done, I'm fine. But preparing for our next match, every day, is what comes first."
he's training every session and hitting the gym.
"I'm a firm believer in Twenty20 and one-dayers being good for the game," he said.
