CRICKET Australia has warned that scalped Ashes tickets - already for sale on eBay at inflated prices - will be identified and cancelled, as it lobbies state governments to outlaw the practice.

The Advertiser has found a double gold pass to the first four days of next month's Adelaide Ashes Test for sale on eBay for $1861.

General admission tickets for the second day of the Test, which starts on Friday, December 3, are sold out and Cricket Australia said a "limited number of tickets" were available for the rest of the game.

"We are warning the public that we are doing what we can to identify scalped tickets," Mr Young said.

Mr Young said CA didn't want families priced out of seeing Shane Watson and skipper Ricky Ponting in his final Ashes contest on home soil in 2010.

Scalpers were depriving fans the chance for premium seats by securing tickets en masse then charging prices only the rich could afford.
