2011 Australia's tour of Bangladesh may be rescheduled to avoid clash with Indian Premier League

Australia's scheduled Test series in Bangladesh in April is likely to be rescheduled because it clashes with the Indian Premier League.

The planned tour includes two Tests and three one-dayers.

Australia's top cricketers are listed to travel to Bangladesh for the series after the World Cup Final in the Indian capital, Mumbai, on April 2.

An International Cricket Council source said the series would either be scrapped or possibly shifted - but it was almost certain not to be played at the same time as the IPL.

Bangladesh publicly claims it wants Australia to tour next year but also has several players in the IPL.

Former Bangladesh captain and fast bowler Mushrafe Mortaza netted an extraordinary contract with Kolkata worth $920,000 when he signed several years ago.

All contracts are up for grabs again for the next edition of the IPL but Bangladesh players such as Mortaza have the potential to earn as much for playing in the IPL as they do in several years of playing for their country.

At the end of a barrage of almost non-stop cricket over the next few months, some of Australia's cricketers will be lucky to be still standing come the time of the IPL.

Mitchell Johnson will not nominate for the IPL - again sitting out the lucrative tournament.
