The Australian limited-overs player fell just short of leading WA to victory against New South Wales at the WACA Ground, with the hosts losing by seven runs, but scored 132 off 135 balls to ensure a thrilling finish and put his name back in the minds of the National Selection Panel.
"I've worked extremely hard to get myself back as quickly as I can, and the back felt really good tonight," he said.
"I started the season really well, so to go to Melbourne and do my back in the first one-day game, I was pretty shattered."
"I'm very happy with the way I'm hitting the ball at the moment, so hopefully I can continue that."
The 27-year-old, who has played 29 ODIs, had 13 boundaries and three sixes in his innings before falling late in the game. His side needed 11 runs off the final over to win with Aaron Heal and Brett Dorey at the crease, but the tail-enders couldn't guide them to victory.
Marsh said despite his great personal performance, WA's loss was tough to take.
"It was disappointing ... there's no excuses. We lost wickets at crucial times," he said.
