Damien Fleming says Australia selectors got it right playing four quicks in third Ashes Test

With question marks hanging over nearly all of Australia's attack, most thought that spinner Michael Beer would be included in the XI with one of the four quicks carrying the drinks.

Not so Fleming, who lauded the selectors for their judgement.

"How good was the decision not to play a spinner in this Test match" Fleming

"I wasn't keen on it (playing a spinner) going in, so I was absolutely rapt"

"Spinners just don't get wickets at the WACA ... correct decision."

Indeed Australia's frontline quicks have ensured their side will start day four needing only five wickets to level the series and set up a tantalising Boxing Day Test at the MCG.

"The Aussies with the ball were just sensational" Fleming attested.

"We're red hot; just an amazing turnaround from the Aussies.

"What a cracking series is being set up from now on."

Ryan Harris's final-ball dismissal of Paul Collingwood may be remembered as the moment that tipped the match severely in Australia's favour and could yet prove a turning point in the series.

"Mitchell Johnson's the one who has just blown this series apart" Fleming said.

"That was exhilarating bowling there and that's why when he's at his best he's absolutely world class."

With barely more than the England tail remaining when play begins at the WACA Ground on day four, Johnson, Harris, Hilfenhaus and Peter Siddle will have the opportunity to put an exclamation point on the statement they have now made.
