Queensland 150 and 7 for 277 (Lynn 142*, Broad 52, Dorey 3-62) drew with Western Australia 331
The Queensland Bulls haven't had the ideal start to the 2010-11 season, losing coach Trevor Barsby and sitting last in the Ryobi Cup, but if they're searching for positives they need look no further than the emergence of Chris Lynn as a genuine Sheffield Shield star.
Lynn's unbeaten century against Western Australia in Queensland's Sheffield Shield win smacked of class. He batted almost the entire day, ruthless with anything on a driving length and showing a mature patience with his shot selection to the short ball.
His season average of 62.7 is the second best in the Sheffield Shield competition, with only Test-hopeful Usman Khawaja averaging more.
All of his highest scores, including his 139 against the Warriors last season in just his second Shield game, have come in the second innings with results on the line.
A consummate professional at only 20, Lynn has genuine self-belief and confidence. He has a clinical approach to his cricket and he demands high standards of himself.
"We had the win on Wednesday (against the Warriors in the Ryobi Cup), which was really good. The team came together, and hopefully it doesn't just happen for two or three weeks, hopefully we stick it out for the rest of the season."
"No matter who the (replacement) coach is, we're a really tight bunch. A champion team will always beat a team of champions, and I think that's what we are."
